Hafizov is hit with passivity first in this one to make it 1-0 Toro Castaneda. Toro Castaneda went for a throw attempt but Hafizov kept with it and put Toro Castaneda his back for 2, and adds a tilt for 2 more to make it 8-2, Columbia challenges and lost, it is 9-2 at the break. Toro Castaneda goes for an arm throw and a gut, USA challenges the action and it is determined that it was an illegal hold on the arm throw, challenge won so no points. Toro Castaneda picks up 2 for exposure and adds a step out to it, Hafizov is hit with caution and 1 for fleeing the mat so it is 9-6 Hafizov. That score holds to the end, Hafizov wins 9-6.

Wang moves on and wins by fall.

Qian wins 5-3.

Then Amos picks up a takedown to extend his lead to 6-2 at the break. Kozliuk picks up a takedown and locks up a gut for 2 exposure to make it 6-6 in favor of Amos. Kozliuk in on an attack but Amos counters again and picks up 4 points to take the lead 10-6. Amos adds a gut wrench for 2 more and that will do it. Amos wins 12-6.

Round of 16 – Braxton Amos vs Beksultan Makhmudov (Kyrgyzstan)

Amos is hit with passivity first and goes down. Makhmudov gets a trap arm and picks up 2 turns to take a 5-0 lead. Amos gets a step out point late in the 1st period to cut the score to 5-1 at the break. Makhmudov gets hit with passivity in the 2nd period to give Amos a point, Amos cannot score so it is 5-2 Makhmudov. That is it, Makhmudov wins 5-2.
